I love music more than oxygen. Since starting my own recording studio in 1977, I have engineered, produced, edited, mixed, and/or performed on at least 10,000 songs…all or other artists. I worked for major labels, indie labels, beginners, pros, geniuses, and an array of quirky, aspiring songwriters.
The education I received over those 40+ years led me at last to my own record. At last I had the time, the emotional fuel, the skills, the equipment, and the stored up material and energy to make the no-compromise solo album I long dreamed of making. I loved every minute of the two+ years it took me to satisfy my high aspirations. The result is the definitive album of a life defined by making music.
I am infinitely grateful to all who trusted me with their music in the studio. I now trust you with mine. I hope listening to it is as meaningful to you as making it has been for me.
About the music: There’s a pretty wide variety of music, mostly built around acoustic guitar. I grew up on the British Invasion (Who, Beatles, Yardbirds) and prog rock (notably early Genesis), but since have grown to love acoustic music with smart lyrics (Paul Simon, Don Henley, Neil Finn…). You will hear evidence of the influence I had on all these artists in my music. :) But it remains my own.
